Seems to be some kind of insurance scam. Strong accent--difficult to understand. Contradicted himself several times, and kept telling me things that had no relevance to the point he was making. (Eg. It is illegal for an insurance company to raise your premiums twice for one incident. Okay, that's nice, but my insurance company hasn't tried to do that, so why are you talking about it? Referred to a minor car accident my daughter had a few months ago while driving my car--not sure how he knew about that. Assured me that even though she was 100% at fault and although she suffered NO physical complaints, not even bruising or soreness, she was entitled to 8-10 thousand dollars in compensation (yeah, right--she makes a mistake, the repairs totaled less than $5000 to our car and no damage on the van she hit, no physical injury, and anyone in their right mind is going to hand out that type of money? I wasn't dropped on my head as a baby and neither was she--this is a scam). I hung up as he was trying to convince me, that having reported the lack of physical symptoms to both the police and our insurance company, she should apply for these supposed benefits claiming she had suffered pain and soreness as a result of the accident. He insisted that she could do this and no proof of doctor's visits or treatment would be needed. (Again, they expect people to believe this? I have to provide a doctor's note to support sick days off work--some organization handing out thousands of dollars isn't going to demand evidence?) He already had my name and address, which is easily obtainable from a phone directory, and I wasn't letting the conversation go anywhere that would get him further information.
