They are in fact liars - they are CollectCorp - and an agent with the (fake) name of Glen Daniels calls from this line.
Always ask to deal with them in writing and then they have to stop calling you - it's the law. Also, don;t believe any payment plans they try to work out with you - they will lie and then sneak into your bank account and take all your cash, even your RENT!!! they would rather you be homeless and than risk their commission!
This guy called here requesting to speak to someone with the same family name as me and I said there was no one with that name here, I asked if they were sure who they were calling and they said yes, so I said why the [***] are you calling my phone number if you are sure who you are calling and they hung up. I called the number back adn its a voice mail with no business name or anything on it.
being hounded by this number. must be wrong identity. in any case,
these guys,as well as a montreal number (514 area code) that's unlisted
keeps calling.
yesterday, some guy claiming he was from a government agency (!) called.
wanted address details from me, or else it would be "serious". he wanted
to go through information with me on the phone. i told him i'd call him
back and he replied his office couldn't be called back. i said that no
government agency exists that can't be called back.
he got cocky and threatended again. at this point i was even more
certain he wasn't for real and told him that any info his "agency"
wanted, would be sent to them officially, and in writing. at this point
the "gentleman" hung up ...
