When I get these phone calls I don't answer any questions nor do I confirm who they are looking for. I start asking them questions and seem like they don't want to answer mine so I hang up on them. I have one guy who has been calling for a year I must of told him that he isn't very intelligent every single call and that is why he has to resort to scamming people. I said you must not be really smart because you keep on calling me under different companies and don't you think by I now your voice. He's called from Rogers which I don't deal with, Microsoft, Revenue Canada, Bell, Royal Bank, CIBC which I don't deal with. He hasn't called in weeks so maybe he was one of the recent arrested. What I want to know is how they get your name and know which banks you deal with. I'm sure it's just mostly guessing but I'm sure they have inside people they know. These calls are coming from other countries.
Someone pretending to do a "Survey" to attempt to legitimize their unsolicited call to you.... they want to gather data on you, your home and "your neighborhood"... ah huh! none of their business!
Received call on Friday from 647-497-5800 and it was a woman's voice saying "Hello . . . hello . . . I'm having trouble hearing you. I'll call right back." Checked it online and people said it was a realty company asking questions about so I blocked the number. Received call today (Monday) now from 647-497-5801 with exact same message (obviously a recording). WTF?!?!? What is the purpose of this?
Got a call this morning with: "Am I speaking with Mrs ###?" "Yes", I replied: "I have a short 3 questions to ask you: are you curently living in your own home?" I replied with who are you and why are you asking? The female replied that she only has 3 short questions and then she repeated the same. I interrupted with "hold on, I am not willing to answer personal questions to a someone I don't know upon which she said "I only have 3 short questions….." I asked to identify herself upon which the caller hung up.
