We received a check payable to my 91-year-old mother for $4,280.00 and dated 10/27/2014. It was supposedly generated by "razorfish and affiliates" and issued by Citibank. It does look like a legitimate check, but the accompanying letter says to call "Jeff Smith, claims agent" at 647-686-1412 before acting. The thing is, my mother passed away at the end of September so her phone number no longer works. We therefore have no idea if Mr. Smith tried to call or what he sounds like. Everything I can find on the internet about this sounds like a scam, though, and your comment has confirmed that for me. Thank you.
Jeff Smith, heavy accent for such a generic english name. Said I needed to deposit a check he sent out through the mail into my bank account so he can keep sending me the rest of my winnings. Scam alert, don't believe this for a second.
