I got a call from this number who is trying to reach a friend of mine. I guess she put my name down as a reference. The caller had an Indian accent and would only give her first name, which was *Martha*. She was scammed for a few hundred dollars from an online payday loan. Another number that has called her is 202-499-1531. They have even gone so far as to say they are from the DA's office, but wouldn't state from where, and that she would be arrested (which never happened).  They also called before 5 in the morning which I found strange. They've even had the nerve to call her again and tell her she has been approved for a loan~just send in a fee lol.

She has filed a police report and contacted her bank, who has not been very helpful at all. They are refusing to close her account until her balance is brought back to $0. She had done this, but before the account was closed these people attempted to withdraw again, and she incurred fees for $35 for each attempt. I told her to stop throwing $ into the account. On some days they have tried 5 or 6 times to withdraw.

I have told her to contact homeland security and the FTC. She is very frustrated and her husband is quite pissed at her.
