Called with a bs sales call, when i told him i was a MCSE and had a degree in computer technology and couldn't wait to hear his scam, he started screaming I was a liar then hung up.
They went through several people including one that said he was a supervisor. They wanted to access "certmgr.msc" on my computer. They would not say why they wanted access. He eventually cussed me out for wasting his 10 minutes time. When these people call - ask them what your IP address is. Don't tell them but ask them and they won't be able to tell you. Or ask them what your computer name is since they would know if it really was in a log somewhere. Caller ID said TORONTO ON
Caller said I had something wrong with my computer and needed to type something into the browser to allow him to fix it. I played dumb girl and said "Oh my, this is awful!" He asked me to let him know when I was in front of my computer and tell him what I saw. I said "I'm here. I see a lovely picture." When he told me to type whatever it was into the browser address bar I said "Do you honestly think I would believe you could tell me something was wrong with a computer that you can't access except through some scam?" He then proceeded to curse and swear for about fifteen seconds, all sorts of vile and vulgar words that I cannot type here, then hung up. When I tried to call the number back I got a "not in service" message. I would really like to meet the gutless little varmint some day.
