The caller could barely speak English and proceeded to ask me for me credit card number to verify if he was speaking to the correct person. I immediately hung up on him. Please be careful not to reveal your personal information to these people. If your bank does contact you, tell them you will call them back. Look their number up on your computer/phone book to contact them prior to revealing any information.
This one showed up as +54 647-898-8827 on my call display.. Of course, because it's a long distance number that I didn't recognize, I never answered it. No message ws left.
Checking here, I see that it's another scam. I added it to my reject list.
WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!
I too have been receiving similar calls, but most time I can prevent the same caller from calling, by using my call blocking feature, provided by my telephone provider.
I was able to block this one as well.
I am with Bell/Aliant, so all I do is dial *60, the automated voice will instruct you how to activate the service.
I also know that there are other service providers that allow you to block nuisance calls like Eastlink.
After you have set it up, the voice asks if you would like to block the last caller, by keying in #01#, alternatively you can just key in the number.
There is a limit on the number of calls, you can block, probably around 10.
