Same as above. IRS calling to tell me I committed fraud and they were starting a lawsuit in my name. Funny, they never mentioned my name. Said I needed to call 501-254-7602. Call came from 650-245-5120.
Just got a call from this number. An man with a very strong East Indian accent (think Pakistani or Indian) who told me he was calling from Microsoft re my computer sending error messages to Microsoft... said he was calling to help me find out what the problem was... after I feigned not understanding him due to his thick accent, he put on another person who said he was the first guy's supervisor... after I told him I could not understand him either, the second guy put on a third guy who had very good English, also with an accent. This guy wanted me to depress the fn and r keys on my computer keyboard... I played along but didn't actually do so... after about ten minutes, the guy finally figured out I was messing with him... he then began to use extremely foul language, including calling me a "f$@!ing American" several times... I calmly switched to Spanish and began to speak to him in Spanish as he continued to insult me ... he then hung up...
This scam was just on the news last night. Says there is issues with your computer. Those who have fallen for this have allowed them to hack in causing damage to their computers. In any event, I blocked the call today after receiving 2 calls on my cell phone, 15 mins apart from one another. The same number has shown up as a blocked call on my phone now 8 times. Thank goodness I have call block.
