It's a solar roofing company. Some how, some way you all got on their calling list. I know how I got on theirs: they called making me believe they were the electric company people calling to discuss my high energy bill and ways to save (yeah, I know...fell for it tho'). When I finally figured out who they really were I refused to have a consult with their folks to get solar panels, I was nice but firm that I just didn't want solar panels. That very day I started getting these calls from all kinds of weird numbers....most are from my area code tho', so at first I answered thinking it was the pharmacy or other business I use.
I have now learned to not answer and come here to look the number up. Luckily my phone has a reject number function and I can block all the numbers that were calling me. The calls have slowed down a lot now. I used to get upwards of 10 calls a day...now it's about twice a week. Silly folks are stupid and I guess it's their way of getting revenge.
Called at 5:20 pm on Monday I am driving on freeway. No message left. I refuse to answer calls if I don't recognize the number. If it's important, they will leave a message.
It purports to be a solar roofing company. But when I quizzed them a bit (their patter was very misleading and made it sound like they had connections to the local power company), it seemed they wanted information from me. I hung up on the [***] but I would also be concerned that this a phishing scam to steal your identity and banking information or credit card.
Here's why. No reputable company and very few real ones make unsolicited phone calls to people on the do-not-call-list (which I am) or to a cell phone (which it was). It wouldn't be practical. Last I heard, the fine for that practice can be up to $11,000 for each count they are convicted for and I believe a single call can be one count. AT&T some years back paid millions in fines for just that practice.
If you didn't originate the call and it's a solicitation, you are strongly urged to hang up. Unfortunately, sending the perpetrator a live and angry skunk, while it would be satisfying, is not an option.
unsolicited and unanswered call to my cell, no message left. From the above appears to be the solar spam which I receive on a pile of different phone numbers. Added this number to my Junk7 contact with a null ringtone... that is 35 regular spam numbers blocked and growing. I really hope I can recycle one of the Junk Spam contacts soon as I don't want to go to Junk8 if I don't have to. Used to be able to recycle them after about Junk 5 but lately it seems to have exploded.
