Just got the same call. I knew it was a scam so I called back to mess with them. She asked me to confirm my name and when I said that it that that was not my name she said sorry and hung up. I wanted to have some fun messing with them. Oh well maybe next time.
Used *67 and called them back and said I was "Dick U. Around" calling from the IRS and had received complaints about harassing phone calls, he interrupted me and said "Really?", and then hung up.
The individual gave his name, but had a strong accent that was hard to understand. There was also significant background noise. What I gathered from the v-mail that he left was that this was a second attempt to contact me regarding appearance before a magistrate for a federal crime involving the U.S. Treasury.
If I'm able to discern his name, I'll report it to the FCC and FBI.
Unwanted threatening scam call 650-278-4439 -- spoke about being brought before a magistrate for some legal action having something to do with the US Treasury Department.
