Windows scam aka. "windows Technical Support" I kept them going for a half hour. They (several guys with a heavy Indian accented) made the claims that they worked for Microsoft, that my machine had downloaded viruses and bad files from the internet, etc.. They had me open the event viewer to see all the "errors". And then read out the HEX Key assigned variable "CLSID" from the "assoc" command claiming that it was my unique Security ID. (Actually, it is the same on every windows 7/8 OS) This is a scam that must be profitable. It's not the first time they've called and their call center noise in the background was quite loud.
Don't let them have remote access to your computer!!!
I just got a call from this number and the man with a heavy filipino accent was trying to tell me Microsoft was calling to tell me something about my computer. I said I don't have a computer and hang up.
Scam. I said I'm on the do not call list and the foreign voice said my computer is being hacked. I told him if he keeps calling me, HE'S going to be hacked.
