the original call i received was presumably from HP support with the correct phone number for HP appearing on caller ID.
they wanted me to run a program and it did not do what they expected so they wanted me to give them access to my computer.
i deferred and they wanted me to call them back at 650.319.7240, james at ext 2002.
i verified directly with HP support about the call and they said it was a fraud and likely a hacker wanting to mess up my computer and have to pay big bucks to get it fixed. BEWARE of this hacker attempt.
