Dead air...click...connection made, we got a live one people!
Asks for Joe Smith. I ask who is calling. Lady with obvious Indian accent says she is so-and-so (English name), personal assistant to Mr. X. Didn't buy it for a second but transferred it through to be ignored.
They called a second time this afternoon, no one on the line.
Called and asked by name for a staff member who would have no reason to talk to outside parties. Caller didn't want to leave a message. Caller ID said "Redwood City."
Called and asked for someone named Ted. When I said we didn't have anyone by that name he asked which company he had called (I already said which company when I answered). Then after a moment he asked for one of the owners. When I asked who he was and what company he was with he had to pause for quite a bit of time before answering. Then when I tried to find out why he was calling he just said his boss wanted him to call and then transfer the call that he "really didn't know what it was about". Yeah, he got voicemail. I get several calls a day saying they're assistants calling to transfer calls for their boss. Non of them are legit.
