placed an ad for a room for rent, the young lady emailed,immediately said she wanted it,is coming for her masters at FAU.She said her father would send rent and funds for me to accept delivery of a car that would be here when she arrives, about the 15th.She states she's on Nuniwak Islan,AK and difficult for phone calls.I'm feeling that this does'nt make sense,I trust people but I have a strange,sad feeling about this.
I can see where this is going. The check will be for a lot more than the rent, which is what she is referring to as funds. They will want you to cash the check and send those extra funds to the shipper to bring the car to you. As most people don't realize that the funds being made available and the check clearing are two different things, you will take the money out and send it by untraceable means such as Western Union. The check bounces and you are out the money and the bank fees. If the check is large enough you could also be charged criminally. If you do get that check, since I believe it is mailed by someone here in the States, forward it to the postal inspectors so that they can trace the sender.
