This reminds me of a recent incident that I was told about first-hand.
The parent of a former neighbor of mine died last year. The parent's house is in Mountain View, CA. The NEXT DAY, a realtor unexpectedly drove up (in a fancy car) to my former neighbor, handed his business card to said neighbor, and had the gall to ask him if he wanted to sell his parent's house. Yes, this happened the DAY AFTER his parent died!
Please note that my neighbor had not contacted any realtors during the prior 24 hours. Why would he? His parent had just died then.
Perhaps not surprisingly, my former neighbor threw away the realtor's business card. He was soon inundated by unsolicited phone calls and other unsolicited visits from local realtors, who hounded him into selling his parent's house. My former neighbor had to change his phone number. He did not sell.
Realtors, you are one hell of a greedy and compassion-free lot. As incredible as this might seem to you greedy lot, you will help yourselves if you show some self-restraint and refrain from hounding people who are newly and/or recently bereaved. The harder you greedy lot push, the harder people will just try to get away from you greedy lot. Show some respect for others. It's really not that hard!
My apologies. We try not to call anyone on DNC list. We actually pay for lists which delete socialists. Notice its initials. DNC. If the DNC is important to you you may not get the joke. My phone number is listed. You can call me. I love talking in English to anyone. Maybe I'm lonely. Call me anytime. In the meantime I'm sure we've updated our list to make sure you're on our non communication list. If we need to get hold of you in any way-- we will use U L F. The whales hate it-- but unlike plastic grocery bags-- it's still legal. Stop being a grump and let people earn their livings.
