I keep getting calls from this number, not just once, but several times a day/week. They always ask for former employees that are no long with our institution. I always tell them that the person they are asking for is not listed in our directory and that there is no one working here by that name. It gets a bit frustrating because we go through this same routine again and again. I even recognize the same voices - sometimes a guy and sometimes a girl - both with Indian accents. I have listed my work extension into the "Do Not Call" list, but this is still happening. It drives me nuts! I have even told them to stop calling a few times. Any suggestions?
A man called w/a very heavy accent and wanting to talk to my boss. Asked him what he wanted. Said he was calling on behalf of someone else and didn't know. Told him I can't let him talk to my boss then. He said he would have to get permission and call me back. I then hung up on him while he was explaining that he has to get permission.
That's exactly what happened to me! guy called 4 different times, for 4 different people in my office, and every time I asked him why he was calling, he couldn't tell me and hung up.
Received a call from 415.983.3942 a few hours ago asking for a guy that hasn't worked with us for 6 months. Told the guy this, and he politely ended the call. Now I get the same call again from this number, asking for the same guy. This time he just said "ok" and hung up. The first call the guy sounded Indian, but this time I couldn't hear an accent- sounded like a typical american dude who can't get a better job than sitting on his butt in a call center, lol.
Wonder how many times they're going to call asking for the same guy. They haven't asked to speak to anyone else yet. If they do, I'll ask to take a message and see if I can get any info out of them.
very odd, agreed, the guy confessed to it being his second day on the job. He was not authorized to disclose the nature of the call, so we went back and forth like a bunch of idiots. He said his name was "John Miller". Hope he is being paid by the hour, don't mind funnin' with them, almost comical really.
if he calls back I'll think of something clever and bizarre . . . .
