Answered the call and put the call on speaker. After a minute of silence, the phone disconnected. Called the number back and was informed by an automatic recording that this is a Magic Jack number which has not been assigned to anyone.

After getting calls almost 2 years, I have noticed some patterns with these scammers:
1. They only call between 8 am and 8 pm my local time.
2. They do not call on Sundays or major holidays like Thanksgiving and Xmas.
Everyone seems to assume they are offshore as in India or China but these things make me think maybe they are in the USA. Or at least they are polite scammers following US customs and holidays. Who knows, but If they are just using auto-dialers not live human callers, why would they bother to turn the autodialers off just a few days a year? If they are in fact ruthless criminal scammers why would they not harass at 3am too? Interesting. So glad for 800 notes.
Answered the phone thinking it is a call from friend/family. Long paused before a lady asked to speak to lady of the house. When I asked to take a message, she started to be snarky and asked if I am the baby mama, cleaning lady, housekeeper, etc. Next time, friend and family without caller ID will have to leave a message because it is not worth having to deal the obnoxious telemarketers.
