Got a call offering an interest rate reduction on "your credit card", asked me to hold to connect to rep. Rep said he was with Credit Services and that they represent Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. He asked if I had one of those. I asked if he was a representative of a company that has currently issued a card to me and he said yes, he represents Visa, Mastercard & Discover cards. He said that if I look on the back of any of my Visa, Mastercard or Discover cards it would talk about "Credit Services". That isn't true of either of my cards. Sounded real shady to me, so I told him so and told to put me on their do not contact list. Weirldy, he sounded very sad when he told me "Okay, ma'am".
This is an illegitimate company using Google Voice to do their harassment.
They say they are "Credit Card Services - Visa and Mastercard" but this is not true. When you ask for their company address they will not give it out.
If you tell them you are on the Do Not Call list, they say "tell me something I don't know" in a very sarcastic voice.
Once upon a time, Do Not Call.gov used to work. But not anymore. The companies are hijacking numbers and making calls to harass people all day long. It's a shame the government does nothing about this. It's even more disappointing that Google Voice allows it.
Yeah, got Tuscaloosa, luckily I didn't answer. But I immediately looked up the number, because I live in Vancouver, Canada, so getting a call from an NY area code right away struck me as odd ... and then annoying.what concerns me is where they got the number from... it's an unlisted cell number... so what company's website that I used my number for under the promise of privacy did they hack to find my number????
