The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
Called at 9:30 AM PDT...caller ID just said NY, USA. Researching it, it appears a lot of people are just getting these calls at about the same time; it's a fresh number being researched by many...so my guess is it's a new scammer/Robocaller/One-Ring Scammers/Scumbags trying to get something for nothing/etc...
I went ahead and listened to their message. It was something along the lines of, "this is Sara from the credit dept. We have been trying to reach you. There's nothing wrong with your account right now but it is imperative that you contact us right away. This will be your final notice. If you would like to reduce your credit interest rate, please stay on the line. Press "1" now to speak to a representative."
So, I pressed 1 and was immediately connected with a foreign sounding female. I asked her if she knew I was on the national "Do Not Call" list. She said, "No," and hung up on me.
