Received a call where an Indian guy asked for my husband. I asked what it was in regards to and he said a "personal matter". I then stated I was his wife he could speak to me, and he asked me to confirm my husband's DOB. I stated I wouldn't until I knew what it was about, he then told me to confirm my address so I hung up. Call came in with caller ID "New York". Based on prior notes, definitely a scam of some kind.
UPDATE: I called back, this is a 3rd party collection company being used by Paramount Recovery Systems. So if you owe money and Paramount is trying to collect, they will hire people like this who are over seas and are using jump numbers to collect.
WHAT THIS MEANS: These people are not in the United States, therefore the collection laws do not apply to them. The police cannot stop them from calling us 7-8 times a day, being harassing, etc. It is illegal but nothing can be done to stop them and if you call Paramount directly they will just state that since you owe money..etc etc...
