I have a Ph.D. and am a college professor. But I also have a perfect payment history and I don't appreciate robocalls, especially when my number has been on the Do Not Call list for 10 years. Also, the number comes across caller id as New York NY and it is indeed a New York number. Why not a DC number if it's an offer from the U.S. government (which would be 202 area code). I just keep blocking numbers and reporting them to the FTC.
