They have found money that is owed to you. I recently found money through the state of ny that is owed to my husband or my son. All you have to do is go to all the different states websites and look for the controllers office. It may be a state refund check you never got, an old paycheck from an old job, a bank account you forgot about. Although FinderKeepers is a legit company you still have to pay them a percentage for getting that money. So look for yourself and get it all for yourself. Good luck!
I received a call regarding unclaimed funds from a health insurance company. The unclaimed funds are real but very easy to get without using this company or paying any fee at all. In my case, I forgot to cash a check my health insurance company mailed me. I went to the New York State comptroller's website and claimed it within 3 minutes.
By the way, my number was on the federal do not call list and I consider this phone call to be a violation.
I thought Finders Keepers was a fraud as well, but I took a risk and a few days later I received a check of $356.00. On Nov. 2010 I received a letter claiming that I had an unclaimed check from a previous job. Like the previous person said, I needed to notorize a letter with my SS number giving them right to collect my check and take 15% commission. I thought about it for a month and on December I mailed the letter. On January, I received another letter stating that they received my letter and that the process would take about 90 days. On April, I received a call from Finders Keepers telling me that they would be sending me an invoice of my check along with the 15% commission bill which had to be sent in a money order. I was weary about it because at first I thought that the notorized letter was to give them the right to retrieve my check along with their 15% commission. 4 days after speaking with the lady I received the invoice of my check. The copy of the check seemed legit and I sent the money order and in 4 days I received my check. Will need to deposit it tomorrow and hopefully it doesn't bounce.

You can get your money yourself my going on the Unclaimed Fund websites for your state (in NY it's https://ouf.osc.state.ny.us/ouf/). Type in your last name and then click on it if it comes up. The claim form then pops up, already filled out. You just mail it, along with the required ID backup to the address on the form. It's free and you'll get your money soon. Don't fall victim to these people who try to get your money for providing a service you can do yourself.
