This sounds like the same guy who called me "a stupid STUPID lady". I get calls like this two or three times a week. This time I told him I would ask my "IT guy" who just "happened to be here". Then I put him on hold for 45 minutes. I am on a no call list but it doesn't seem to help with these scammers.
Missed the call ... I called it back and it was an operator saying "this phone number is no longer in service" ... I called it back within minutes!! ??
I answered the phone and it was a guy saying that he was from windows saying that i have mulitple viruses on my computer and he want me to turn on my computer and go through stuff. This sounded kind of fishy to me so i hung up and googled the phone# that they called from and got this message. Do not give these guys any of your information.
I also received a call from this number ..unknown.. He said he worked with microsoft wanted me to turn on my computer. To check out various problems with windows xp When i said no, he asked me to hold while he got his supervisor. I ended the call. How did he know i had a computer and hpow did he get my phone number. Scary stuff.
I received an unsolicited phone call from this number today. WARNING: A VERY smooth talker and his associates (almost all with East Indian/English accents) know MANY clever ways to get access to your time to discuss Microsoft Windows XP software security issues. Ultimately he/they were selling a software maintenance agreement, but they may also be using the phone time to access computer information. I am still investigating what damage they might have done to my computer in the process.
