Telemaggoter Call: December 3, 2015
The call from the this alleged number came up as GW Financial. Thankfully the called was stopped after the first ring and that means my mother has one less number to add to the built in call blocker on her phone.
Based on what I have read, it sounds like that this is bogus operation offering an imaginary trip. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they are using caller ID spoofing in order to display the name and number of a company that has no connection to these calls.
Thankfully I know that the DNCR stops legitimate businesses from calling. However bogus will never honor this or any other law.
Got a call at 1027am on my cell phone. An automated call claiming a free trip to Disney. And I could tell something was up when I said nothing on the phone and it was an automated call. They asked if I had a credit card. I said no and they automated politely sorry to bother you and hung up.
Its Scam call day! No message on this one supposedly from G W Financial. 50 minutes before this one got one from Washington DC claiming to be the US treasury. I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't know, anonymous callers or blocked callers. Thank goodness for caller ID and 800 notes!
