Contact ConEd directly, call, check your account on-line, if you're close try an office visit. If they can't produce any evidence of who they are, don't talk to them.
This is not a call from con edison. It's a scam. Con Edison would show up on your caller ID & my con Ed is not area code 718. Also, I always pay con ed on time so there would be no reason for them to call. I have cursded these people out numerous times & have just filed a complaint against this # as well. Tired of them calling everyday.
It's not a collection agency. It's a SCAM!!!!!! It has nothing to do with you owing somebody money. I don't owe money to anyone & they keep calling. Furthermore, if they were legit they would know who they are calling. They always ask to speak to the person in charge of this bill or that bill...A bunch of BS!!!
It is a call from the Bronx routed to India and a call center. They are trying to sell you service to a Con Ed competitor.
I received five calls and each time questioned the caller-saying can I speak to someone who speaks English as their accent was too thick. Then I asked to speak to a Supervisor. It is clear that you can hear the call center in the background.
