Just got a call from a scam artist impersonating a DEA agent telling me I had to pay a fine or go to jail. I put them on hold called the real DEA and they told me it was a scam.I was freaked out at first but once he said I had to MoneyGram money over to him I knew it was fake.
March 3, 2014 got a call saying he was DEA. When I questioned how do I know he is who he said he is, he became kinda hostile and said this was about some internet matter and that a summons would be issued to me. Got a similar call a few months ago that was voice mail saying he was DEA.
Stated he was a DEA agent from NY at the East Side office and needed me to contact him immediately for an important matter he would appreciate my cooperation with.
Thanks for the other heads up on the scam. I was nervous.
