said they were from microsoft and my computer was on their server and for no fee, they would fix my computer for me. They wanted me to go to mypcsave.com on my computer. I think it was a scam. Now I am getting calls over and over from a private number and no one is there.
It's an old con; they have nothing to do with Microsoft. A call center in India will tell you your PC computer has problems then want to charge you $150.00 or so to fix it. They in fact have no idea if there is anything wrong with your computer; they are just cold calling. They'll try to get you to upload software they will use to remotely control it and this basically gives them access to all your files and allows them to upload anything they want and can access our computer anytime they want. Don't allow them access to your computer under any circumstance. Ignore their calls or tell them you know it's a scam and won't cooperate.
I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE NUMBER 718-576-6845 AND CALLED IT BACK, IT SAID NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE. I CALLED MY LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT AND IT IS A SCAM, SO DON'T FALL FOR IT.
