I thought the name was Ashley Ownes, but it could have been Leslie as others have noted, but the full message was hard to understand since her accent was so thick. It was clear she was reading from a script. Never stated my name but said I should retain an attorney and have him call her back. Never identified where the "Department of Legal Affairs" was from, but she did tell me to have "a blessed day" at the end of the call.
Called back and asked for Leslie Owens and some guy with same accent said legal action against my name. Transferred me to the treasury? Sounded like the same dude. Said it was against my 2012 taxes. I told him this is bull $&@? And he said if it is bull$&@$ for me to hang up because he has a lot of phone calls to take care of?? He new my name and phone number but that was probably caller ID
Also got call (at 7:00 am!) from this number. Recording in foreign voice says she is Leslie Owens from "the legal department". demands that my attorney call back about enforcement actions against me. Not sure how their scam works, but won't call back to find out! Thank goodness for call blocking landlines!
Same as above. Call display Jacob Conner. Gave name Leslie Owens, Dept of legal affairs. Never gave name of who she was looking for. Says regarding pending legal matter against you. Says we may wish to have attorney call on our behalf. I will not call it back and will not answer. I was sure it was a scam. Reminder to people, never give your personal information to unknown people over the phone.
