I also got a call from Michael Fisher from the 'US Border Patrol, Mail Division' about a package detained at JFK. He 'checked it out and we needed to call the airport at 718-690-9758 to start a claim to get it to us. I was also given a claim number and got through to John Perren, who gave me a number for the sweepstakes clearance to call and verify that we did win. It all seems to legit, but I got suspicious when John told us we needed to send $3685 through Western Union or Moneygram out of the country for insurance and shipping and handling. Even though the sweepstakes clearance place we called assured we would be reimbursed for the shipping and insurance, it doesn't sit right with me. I know that money sent Western Union out of the country can not be tracked or recovered in the event of a fraud. Thankfully, we ran out of time before trying to arrange for the money. Hubbie had to get to work, and I'm not doing anything about this without him but checking more into it.
Got a call from some guy, cound not understand his name telling me to call this number 718-690-9758 I Googled the number and read the above notes...Thank God for Google.
exactly the same thing happen to us, telling to call Mr. Norman Armstrong because we won $875,000 ....he seems legit, but before we contact them we do reearch...and thanks everyone.....beware people!
They just tried to call me with the BULL! Once I told them that I would have my lawyer on retainer check into it, they hung up on me too! Please be aware it is a FRAUD don't fall for it. DON'T send them a dime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom just received the same call. She and my sister were super excited. My mom allegedly won money from a sweepstakes in Washington but had to call (718) 690-9758, ask to speak to Mr. Norman Armstrong and got a reference number for the package. My mom was told to pay for the insurance and just tender the receipt when she picks up the package. My sister spoke with Norman. When I tried calling back I just kept getting the voicemail. I'm glad I googled the number and got the information. My mom was disappointed but I prefer for her to be disappointed now and not several thousand later. Thanks everyone for your comments.
