Caller is calling stating I owe some sort of debt to them which I know I do not and want me to give them a payment over the phone stating they need a payment today. I asked for a invoice or payment history or bill and he states that I haven't paid anything. Well they should have something like that on file statting they will see me in court than I guess you'll have to see me in court because I'm not paying you a cent.
Was the person that called you a attorney for Dewey and labisk law firm or something like that? I got a call from them today but i don't answer phone numbers that i don't know, specially from out of town numbers. He did leave a voicemail, but I haven't called them back yet so not sure what hes calling about. I think its a scam but i also want to know what he wants.
I got the same call from the same people (for my daughter). I told them I knew she hadn't ordered any magazines because she used our home number and not her cell number (which she does her business on) and I'm glad I read the comments because when they call back I'm going to tell them I'll see them in court also! I answered the voicemail, so don't waste your time!
I got a call from this number saying he was a lawyer from Kirkland and Ellis in New York. He said he was going to take me to court if I did not settle and it will cost me $4000. I asked for more info and he would not give it to me. He said he would give me a username and password for a site to pay. I did sign up for a magazine subscription 7 years ago and wanted to cancel in 2010. If this was legit then why did it not go to collection 3 years ago?
