Received text message on my cell stating I won a $1000 dollar gift card from Best Buy. Traced Best Buy's IP adddress (www.bestbuy.com) and it stated the website is in Boston, MA. Traced the bogus URL (http://www.bestbuy.com.ppick.biz) and it pointed at Peking, China. For fun, I went to the bogus website and entered the code I was asked to enter to win the prize. My Antivirus software promply blocked the website as a security risk.
The URL address looked suspicious to begin with. Which, is why I had done the preliminary investigation to the URL origin. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A HOAX. Beware if you receive this text message; simply delete it!
