This number has been calling me relentlessly for days now. My caller id says call from New York. The first time I answered a male with a foreign accent said this is a call from New York and then he hung up. He keeps on calling, even waking me up this am. Now when I answer there is a hang up. I called back this number and it has a message that says this number is not in order. Obviously this is scammers possibly trying to use our numbers to call out of the country numbers then having the calls billed to us. I will be checking my phone bills for erroneous calls. Now I don't answer the phone, but it is still so aggravating that it makes me want to give up my phone.
In my previous message I forgot to mention that I live in Virginia. In reading other messages it looks like these people are using a legal business number in New York and calling all over the country.
It's a shame that there are such people in this world that have nothing better to do. They are just plain pity full!
They say they are calling to update a free business listing....I just hang up. They have called several times a day for weeks now and I have told them to take me of their call list. Doesnt work. I filled out a complaint with our state, but I don't think that will help either. I'm im MA.
