I have gotten a call from this number 6-8 times over the past 3 days. They claim they want to update information for free internet listing, yellow pages listing, and white pages listing. Everytime the call comes in it is a different person....today it was someone with an australian accent, yesterday it was someone with an indian accent, and tuesday it was someone with a chinese accent.
I get calls like these constantly. Its always a different number but almost always the same scam. Lately, I have been trying out a new idea. When they ask me for my name, business name, number, address... I have been telling them that the business has completely changed and that the number they are calling me on has been relegated to a back-line.
I then provide them 100% false information and use a "new" telephone number that I pull right here from 800notes. Don't know how well this will work out but I will (hopefully) soon be able to gague whether or not the false info has worked its way into their system based upon who they ask for when they call.
