Thank you. I'm just reviving this and I know I didn't commit a fraud I'm so glad you said you were with the local PD . Now I know it's a scam is there anything we can do to stop them scammers?
Yes, same deal. Got an automated recording stating that the federal government had a warrant out for my arrest and I needed to call them back. I'm a paralegal; if you have a warrant out on you the notice will not be via automated call.
Got call from (718)770-3585 Unknown Name on ID. This automated msg was left on my voicemail.
"This is in regards to legal case filed against your name. This is Officer Steve Parker from Internal Revenue Services. This call is officially final notice from IRS. The nature and purpose of this call is to inform you that we have received a legal petition notice concerning Tax Fraud against you. So before this matter goes to Federal Claims Courthouse or before you get arrested, please contact 718-777 (voicemail ran out). Number on ID says 1-718-770-3585.
I got the call from 718-770-3585. The caller id'd himself as Department of Treasury Officer Stephen Richards. Said I owed $1362 in back taxes from 2013. I said ok, He said that a warrant had already been issued and agents would be at my home in less than 45 minutes. I said let them come. They would be met with my .44 and my dogs. And that any reputable company would at least send out notifications before making any kind of threatening call. I then hung up and contacted my local District Attorney's office. Well, it has been over 2 hours and I am still 'waiting to be arrested'.... ha ha...
