Caller started their spiel even before the answering machine started, so I didn't hear it.
They maybe calling every phone whether it's active or not. It hard to tell where they get numbers and I suppose landline phones are increasingly older subscribers, so by default they seem to calling older people whether on purpose or not.
Even using the the "Do Not Call list" may just be giving them a list of confirmed numbers. Do Not call just keeps the honest honest.
this is the second call from this number. they knew my name and a person with a Indian accent told me to hold for an important call about a business matter. I hung up. there have been many scams by email and phone and I do not talk to anyone who cannot speak or write English correctly. if it was a real call they would verify to whom they were speaking with as well as given their name, company and information.
