I believe they are a legal service i got a call from them on 1/16/2014 and asking for someone i didnt know so they could deliver legal documents and they called me twice within half an hour but i could be completely wrong and it could be a scam cause it is a cell phone number from sprint.
Got two hang up calls from this number. When I called back I got voicemail and the name of the company. I tried four times to call them. I blocked the number so they cannot call me anymore.
I received a call from a 507-721-1192 who identified herself as Megan from Nationwide Locating Corporation. She was calling in regards to my father who currently has a civil lawsuit against him and needs to send legal documentation. She asked for me to tell my father to call 1-877-915-4765 with a case number to get more information. Then she just hung up on me.
I called 1-877-915-4765 and spoke with Joanne Collins from the Claims and Litigation Department at JE Groups. I told her that I was helping my father with his legal complaints against him. She told me that she could not give me any information because she could not verify my identity. She asked for my father to call and give permission so I can speak with them only. I literally laughed and told Joanne, "how would you even know that my father would call you? I can have a male give you permission to speak with me". She insisted that she gets these calls daily and ensures that she will ask personal questions to verify his identity. I then asked her where was this civil lawsuit issued. She stated, "I am not sure. It just shows that it is pending". So I told her that this whole ordeal is very suspicious and does not make any sense.
I do have a gut feeling that this is a scam and my inner investigator peaked my curiosity. I will eventually get to the bottom of this situation. What I find amusing is that these scammers do not know that I work in the legal field as a Paralegal and know many people, especially investigators.
I received a call from same people Nationwide Locating Corp caller Megan. Saying papers will be attempted to be served. I informed her the person she was calling for currently lives out of the country. I just dont understand any legitimate company that would just start a call with threats when you havent located your person of interest. She called from (541)728-9108 Bend, Oregon.
