I is a sales pitch, in my case a violation of the Do Not Call legislation.

Same thing. They called for 'furthering education'

Just received their call.  Told them I had a PhD.  It stunned them.  I then hung up.  Obvious scam.

Missed a call from this number on Sat., 10/18/14.  Left no message, and that's not unusual on solicitation calls, especially "live" ones.
