Asked for the code name I give telephone companies. That's how I know it's someone that doesn't know me. When I told them I wasn't there, they asked for the "Man or Lady of the House." When I told them they weren't there either, they said "No Message. I'll try later." Go ahead. Make my day.
Mary got the same response-Asked for my husband told them he wasn't home than asked for the lady of the house. When told I wasn't home either and asked if there was a message to leave they said no message would try and call back later. Later when I called the number back it's a recording stating they are busy answering and speaking with others, when they're open, times, and you could press 1 for more info or 2 to be added to their Do Not Call List. Since they never state who they are or why they are calling I pressed 1. They still never state who they are but, they say they are looking for donations on behalf of who they work for? I hung up and called back and hit 2.
I answered the call and the man was asking for money for fallen police officer's widows and children. He sounded legit until he told me the cost of two packets, starting at 65.00. I told him to send me the info and I would donate. He said they do it over the phone by credit card and when I resisted he got forceful. No legit organization for the police would conduct their business like that as it is too risky!! Never give out credit card numbers!!!!!! I can't remember the organization he said he was from but if legit I would have heard of it.
