The number seems to be a cell phone number when you reverse trace it according to a few good websites. It shows up on caller ID as COLORADO. They have called twice so far in less than a week. On the message, the person identifies himself as being with the IBM Rational Software Team and is following up with me (by name). I think that they are prob confusing me though with someone else in their database. But, I am a tad bit suspicious since I've had no relationship or connection with IBM or any of their products... And, I believe that a reputable company such as IBM wouldn't be masking their identity under a cell phone-like cover a/k/a COLORADO. Very strange. Hence, this post to see if a trend/scam of some sort is developing.

I just got a call from this number. I didn't answer it, but it makes sense that it would be from IBM Rational as I did just download a trial version of their software last week. I'm surprised I gave my cellphone number in the process but I guess I must have.
Same thing with me - I downloaded the software today and though I did give my cell number, I checked all the boxes to indicate no phone calls, no emails, no nothin' and this call came in. I did not answer it, but seeing that you got a call after your download from the same number and the other post picked up and it was IBM Rational, it is probably legitimate...even though I asked them not to call! Oh, and an email just came in from IBM Rational as well, even though I told them not to email me either! ;-)
The call is legit. I went to an IBM conference in Costa Mesa a couple of months ago and found it interesting. Just today (1/13/2012) I got a call and the message had to do with the conference. The person who called also sent an e-mail. I'll check it and probably reply. If for any reason I think it's any thing other than a legitimate inquiry about the conference, I'll post a new message.
