The person from this number called my home phone after 8.30 PM.  A call at this time is against the law in the state of Washington.
I can not imagine anyone having a desire to be a  con person.  I guess that they have no happy life nor the Lord Jesus in their life
I did not listen to their spill.

Caller sounded either recorded or officious. Said this is a very important call for (my name). If this is the household of (my name) press 5. If it is not, press 3.  I pressed 5 because it is my household. Then caller said "Thank you for verifying your information. One of our representatives will call you shortly about your interest". They she hung up. No one called me back. My question is, is this a scam where someone is trying to get a form of "Yes" answer from me so they can prove I ordered or agreed to something?  I've just learned from the internet about this type of scam, but the interned description said the caller would say something like "Hello! Is this (your name)?"  Can my pressing a number on the keyboard be altered in some way to prove I said "Yes" to whatever message they attach my call to?

This is telephone spear phishing. They are attempting to verify who lives at the household. Not for official reasons, but more likely for more telephone spam, and likely illegal attempts at fraud (since you verifying the household name at that number makes the telephone number valuable to fraud and could be illegally sold regularly).

You are better off not pressing any button.

Some useful tips:
You should never pick up the phone if caller ID shows City, State (any city and from any state), because that is not how actual caller ID functions (even between VoIP, Wireless, Landline). About 95% of the time when you see a city and state appear on the caller ID, it will be fraud. Some will even sound official.

You should never pick up the phone if caller ID shows Wireless Caller, because that just means it is more likely a disposal cell (if not spoofed VoIP attempting to imitate a cell number). About 80% of the time when you see Wireless Caller appear on the caller ID, it will be fraud. In those cases, some will also sound official.

Didn't answer. Left fragmentary message, as others reporting have noted: "You do not seem to be human. Good Bye!" Ok, great! Hope to never hear from you again, you scam artists. CID was "Colorado Call." Anyone else who gets this, don't be tempted to respond by pressing phone keys.
