Caler ID on my cell phone did not include an area code, which should mean it's a call from my area code. But apparently not. I'm sure it was spoofed and could have been from anywhere. The caller was a middle eastern [***]-hole posing as a Microsoft tech. Called himself Alex but should have been Muhammad. I listened to his bull-[***] for a few seconds and hung up. I run a business. I cannot ignore every phone call I don't recognize. Customers don't leave messages and hope I will return their call. Either I answer my phone or go out of business.
Hangs up with no message left. Supposedly it's the Denver Post, but I've been getting scam phone messages and texts from legitimate phone numbers, yet the messages or texts are definitely bogus. Scammers can make it appear that they are calling from a real business, but DO NOT give them any personal information.
If you want to subscribe to the Denver Post, call them or subscribe online, but do the contacting yourself.
