"Med Clinic" in caller ID, voice mail message left indicating someone had called about a back brace for back pain, then launched into what sounded more like a solicitation.
The caller ID said med clinic and as soon as I answer a pre-recorded message played stating that someone calling from my number had requested a back or knee brace. Was given two options, one to be put on the Do Not Call List, and two to talk to a representative. Even though I never made a call to this number that claims I requested a brace from them, I decided to stick it out and attempt to talk to someone. I was put through to a woman, and I politely explained to her that I had never requested anything and was receiving this call perhaps by mistake. She didn't even acknowledge what I said, and instead hung up without saying anything. People who are this rude tend to be scammers in my experience. So in either case, it's either a solicitation or a scam. Don't talk to these people.
Got a call from this number yesterday (5/23/2017) at around 2 PM. Caller ID showed up as "Out of area 1-720-710-0622". As with all "Out of area" calls, I let it roll thru to voice mail. And, as expected, they didn't leave any message. Several hours later I tried calling the number back (using *67 to block my own CID). I got a recorded message explaining how to have my number added to their Do-Not-Call List; but with no company name or indication of what sort of business it was. I hung up without pressing any buttons or leaving any message. Then I added this number to my phone's Call Block List.
I should also mention that this is the third variation of the Caller ID starting with "1-720-710" that scammers have used to try to get thru to me. In addition to this latest CID (720-710-0622) that I got and blocked yesterday, I've received calls from 720-710-0565 earlier this month, as well as a call from 720-710-0735 back in February 2017. All these calls were either "Out of area" or (in one case) showing the name "MED CLINIC". But in all cases, I let the calls roll thru to voice mail, where no messages were ever left, and the callers just hang up. I'm pretty well convinced that the "720-710" area code-prefix exchange is used almost exclusively by scammers. And at this point, I think I may just block the entire range of phone numbers for that exchange -- i.e., 720-710-xxxx (from 0000 to 9999). If your phone system allows you to block entire exchanges like that, I'd strongly recommend that you go ahead and do so also.
I got a knee brace and they called about it but wanted to record me saying YES to use audio sample later to bill me. And when I said NO and your scam didn't work they just shut up and didn't say a word.
