SCAM...SCAM Alert
These people call themselves the Fraternal order of Police looking for donations..their a scam..They don't take donations for any police..Scam.
1. Never donate over the phone - too many scams - you cannot validate the person calling is legit.
2. Telemarketers calling on behalf of charities keep 85-90% of all donations they generate. They get more money than the charity!
3. If you wish to donate - do so directly with the charity itself - that way you KNOW where your money is going. Also tell them to stop using TELEMARKETERS!
4. If you wish to donate to the Fraternal Order of Police - call your local police dept - they will have legitimate contact info for you.

Massachusetts Puts Charity Telemarketers On Hold
Consumers not told fundraisers were pros
Got a call a few minutes ago. They asked for me by my first name. Said they were calling from "Fraternal order of police" and wouldn't keep me on the line for more than 60 seconds, then proceeded to ask me if I wasn't glad we had to police to protect us. I said yes. he then repeated himself and said, he just asked me if i agreed with him? I said "I agree". then he said he couldn't hear me and would call back later and hung up. The call sounded weired, I did *69 on my phone, called back the number and got a telephone company recording that the call could not be completed like you get when the number is disconnected. Hoping by saying the "yes" word didn't give them some right to do something to my accounts.
Ususally I just hang up on calls like this. Kind of worriesome.
I got the same call as Donna but told them I couldnt at the time. They are sending me paperwork now. I too normally hang up so no I am also worried I just gave my mailing info out.
