[email protected] is the email address that we're receiving messages from. We're in Ottawa Ontario, Canada.
This person is trying to scam us now. Thank you all for the information. It's unfortunate the police won't do anything about this here.
I have someone trying to rent my apartment from this number and they want to prepay to secure it she says she is a masters student from spain. Seems this is a Colorado number. Have a weird feeling. Did you find anything out about this number?
Same number, same apartment hunter who contacted me via e-mail. Claims Dad will send cash to secure a fully furnished room (sahred accomodation) in Ottawa, Ontario for her micro-biology courses. Not fast at answering her e-mails. Phone number apparently ports into a Google IP voice app in Denver. Why she has this service is very curious. Not sure if this is a scam or what. Will see if check truly arrives in the mail.
I dealt with this same person. Didn't feel right when I got the first email, then I knew something was up when I got identical emails and texts (from this CO number obviously), with different names claiming they were from different places. For fun I went along with it to find out what the endgame was. They claimed they were having their car shipped to my location and they were sending a check to pay for it. To my surprise, I actually received a cashiers check for almost $3000 in the mail. I'm 100% positive it is a fake check (lacks the security watermark) and they then told me to deduct one months rent and send the rest as a moneygram to the car dealer. For one, the address they gave me for the person I'm supposed to be sending money to is not a real address, and two, that is obviously now how auto shippers deal with payment. Beware.
