A woman with a very shrill voice mumbled something uninteligible and asked for "William <unintelligible>"
I asked her to repeat the name and still couldn't understand the last name, but there is no William here, so it's not an issue. She apologized for the call, thanked me and hung up.
Sounds like a collection call. If they call again (as usually is the case) I'll block their number, but for now, I'm leaving it unblocked.
This number has called me every day for almost the last two weeks. They're asking for someone named "Eliza *mumbled last name*". I keep telling them they have the wrong number and to remove me from the call list but they haven't and they hang up right after I tell them to. They don't even announce who they are and where they're calling from first but the background noise is loud and it definitely sounds like a call center of some kind.

Less than 3 hours after their initial call, they called again, but asked for a different person.
A man mumbled something uninteligible and asked for "Mindy".
I asked "Who?" and still couldn't understand what he was saying, and said he had the wrong number. He apologized for the call, thanked me and hung up.
Sounds like they're fishing as they called and asked for William first, then less than three hours late, asked for "Mindy". Why are they calling me? a collection call. Curious if they'll call tomorrow for a third person? I'll block their number eventually, but for now, I'm leaving it unblocked. I'm curious.
Calls my house phone and cell phone repeatedly. Sounds like they're in India or something - the accent's very thick. Then they called back and the ID showed 777-194-96250342 or some strange phone number. If it continues, I'll report them to the authorities and the DO NOT CALL people.

Four days after their second call, they called again, asking for the same person.
A woman greeted me and asked for "Mindy Lee".
I asked how to spell the last name and she replied "L as in Lima, E as in echo, A as in alpha, H as in Hotel..." so I told her no such person ever had this phone number which we've had for over 32 years and she had the wrong number. She apologized for the call, thanked me and hung up.
Now that they've called twice for the same person, I'll wait for one more call before I block them. Unfortunately, if they sell this old debt to another company, in 4 or 6 months this call-and-ask-for-Mindy will start again from a new collector and a new phone number.
