They are a front for a debt-collection agency to see if the number they are calling is still a working number and if anyone is home so they can call back from another number and harass people for $$$ that they may owe and not be able to pay OR that has exceeded the ' Statute of Limitations ' OR that they do not owe.
They use this spoofed number to call people whom they think owes money (even if they don't owe) usually when the person they are trying to reach totally ignores them and will not answer the phone when they see their number on their Caller ID.
So, they spoofed the 732-529-0448 phone # on the ID Caller, meaning it IS NOT the actual number that they are calling from, in a feeble attempt to try to determine if it's still a functioning working number, as the party they are trying to reach never answers their harassing, never-ending, debt-collection calls when they see their phone number/company name on the Caller ID.
They figure if one sees ' NJ Resources ' on the phone's Caller ID they are more likely to answer and they can determine if the number is still in service and someone is home.
My suggestion -- DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE and they will stop.
