Who called from 7326942151

Yes, it's a scam.

I called Western Union and spoke with the customer service representative. She confirmed with me that this is not a scam, it is from their verification department. But as we all known, if there is anyone asking me for the bank information, just don't give out any information to them. : )

A relative of mine received a call from 732-694-2151 after being scammed out of $400.00 by allowing someone access to their computer to supposedly get rid of Windows errors.  SCAM SCAM SCAM

This person knew my full name, address and birthday without me even saying them. Somehow, he was able to get inside information from Western Union. He said I had to send documents to [email protected] for proof of how I spend my money like rent contract, phone bill, etc (so ridiculous). He said I have to send those documents in two weeks so that I won't get interrupted in using their services. Good thing I told him I don't have a bank account when he asked me. He said his name was Alfred, ID# 042 and also gave me my case number then gave me Western Union "hotline" 1-800-773-7948 to verify if it was true or not. The next day, I did my research, went to Western Union website and called their Consumer Protection hotline.Sure enough, it was all baloney. Please don't be a victim of these desperate people.

My conclusion: This number is LEGIT and NOT a scam.  More details below.

I had sent a money transfer via Western Union online and received a call about 30 mins later from 732-694-2151 asking following questions:
1. My name
2. Recipient's name
3. last 4 of bank account
4. my birthday
5. sender address
6. If I know recipient face-to-face
7. Have I ever sent that receiver money before
8. What is the purpose of money transfer

It seemed a little suspicious, so I called the Western Union 800 number to verify.  After about 30 mins of holds and transfers (the initial representative had no idea), they confirmed that the number was a legitimate Western Union number and asked the proper questions for verification purposes.

But you don't have to take my word for it, just call Western Union and ask their fraud alert department to verify.
