Called my house twice today, both calls claiming to be from the IRS. my parents let the answering machine pick up both calls as we screen them. My mother immediately called the police. Our local news station was reporting this on their station this afternoon. Scam, scam, scam...
I received two calls from this number and both times messages were left that said "To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number, 740-317-0548." I was curious and did call. The person who answered the phone had such a heavy South Asian accent that I could barely understand him, although it sounded like he was claiming to be with law enforcement. I politely asked him to repeat what he said, as I hadn't understood it. He began cursing me graphically and vehemently. I could barely understand that either, but when I did realize what he was saying, I hung up and blocked the number.
I also received a message today from this number saying they were calling from the Internal Revenue Services and the I need to call them back because of a law suit against me.
