My husband Received a text from this number claiming that my husbands card has been deactivated so I called the number it was a recording saying it was card services open 24 hrs a day the it says please enter your 16 digit card number. I am not stupid I know it has to be a scam so I just hung up.
The following was a text recieved Weds. 11/14/2012. 'BANK ACCOUNT ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please call 740-415-0689'
I chose to ignore after reading this post.
Really do these people think we believe them, sure a bank is going to text to say your card has been deactivated! Why do we have the do not call list when they still call?
I received a phone call from this number today and the male at the other end claimed to be an employee of AEP-Ohio and was calling to let me know I needed to pay almost $500 at an AEP location before 4 pm, (the call came in at 2:30pm) for an commercial account that was never mine. He badgered me for 20 minutes about how if I didn't pay it before 4 pm, I was going to be turned over to a collection agency. Then when I told him I was having chest pains (because I WAS!!) he quickly said "no, no maam this is just a prank call. Calm down!" Really, calm down!? I called and reported the phone number to the Columbus Police as a harassing call. And I told him I was going to do it. He begged me not to, that he didn't mean to hurt me. Too bad...I went by the doctor's office and my BP was sky-high
