Called at dinner time, asked for my husband by name......wanted donations for cancer patients. I prefer to help my OWN friends who have cancer, thank you very much.
Called me at work -- I give my work number to people I don't want calling me at home -- and said they would update their records. And hung up. I was in Burlington Coat Factory and they now want your phone number to "reference" in case you don't have your receipt and you want to return something. Sounds like they sell the phone numbers to me -- why can't they use your credit card like most places?
Thought this call was legit and agreed to make a $35 donation. I was asked twice if I was comfortable with this amount.
Then felt a little suspicious, but they said they would mail something to me and it would help in my area.
Makes me nervous that they are sending people to your house.
